Luke 14:15-24 And when one of those who were reclining at the table with Him heard this, he said to Him, "Blessed is everyone who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God!" 16 But He said to him, "A certain man was giving a big dinner, and he invited many; 17 and at the dinner hour he sent his slave to say to those who had been invited, 'Come; for everything is ready now.' 18 "But they all alike began to make excuses. The first one said to him, 'I have bought a piece of land and I need to go out and look at it; please consider me excused.' 19 "And another one said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to try them out; please consider me excused.' 20 "And another one said, 'I have married a wife, and for that reason I cannot come.' 21 "And the slave came back and reported this to his master. Then the head of the household became angry and said to his slave, 'Go out at once into the streets and lanes of the city and bring in here the poor and crippled and blind and lame.' 22 "And the slave said, 'Master, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room.' 23 "And the master said to the slave, 'Go out into the highways and along the hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. 24 'For I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste of my dinner.'’
Do you want to be blessed?
Do you want to help give others opportunity to be blessed?
Blessed is everyone who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God!"
God so loved the world…John 3:16 Whosoever will…It is not God’s will that any should perish but have everlasting life.
A certain man was giving a big dinner, and he invited many.
The invitation is given, the dinner hour is upon us, it is imminent!
Are you a servant of God? Are you going out and spreading his invitation to all the who-so-evers you can?
At the dinner hour he sent his slave to say to those who had been invited, 'Come; for everything is ready now.'
Our responsibility is to give the invitation to share the good news of the greatest banquet dinner ever served and offered to all, no matter color, social status, race, or any other difference or similarity.
We must not become disheartened because of all the excuses. Not all will accept, but whosoever will accept will have eternal life and abundant life here! Don’t be surprised, discouraged, delayed or offended by all the excuses!
They all alike began to make excuses, petty excuses. We do our part to speak the truth in love, give the true message of the good news of Jesus Christ. When we are insulted, mocked, rejected, criticized, ignored, lied on, jailed or killed for his sake we tell God and he rises to take care of us and his Word will not return void.
The slave came back and reported this to his master. Then the head of the household became angry. God will have a people who love and serve him. God is not prejudice like many people. He doesn’t care about some of the things people value. He takes the worse of the worse, those who are tossed the rubbish heap of society and he cleans them and fills them up with his Word and they become trophies of his grace. He lifts them to highest heights and takes pleasure in their company. He takes the rag-tags of this world, who are many of us and puts us in heavenly places!!! Perhaps some of you are of that number!!! Praise the Lord. 'Go out at once into the streets and lanes of the city and bring in here the poor and crippled and blind and lame. There is always room.
This still has to do with bringing everyone who will come…All who is thirsty. 'Go out into the highways and along the hedges. We are to urge/compel them, to show the beauty of, to explain the winning choice! Share the Good News as it is the good news! Who doesn’t need good news?
God wants a full house! God should have a full house. compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. Unless one believes in the only begotten Son of God, he cannot be saved! He must prepare to to be received into the wedding.
First one accepts the invitation…NO EXCUSES. none of those men who were invited shall taste of my dinner.'’
Rest of story found in…Matthew 22:10-14 "And those slaves went out into the streets, and gathered together all they found, both evil and good; and the wedding hall was filled with dinner guests. 11 "But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw there a man not dressed in wedding clothes, 12 and he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here without wedding clothes?' And he was speechless. 13 "Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, and cast him into the outer darkness; in that place there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' 14 "For many are called, but few are chosen." We must have on the wedding garment!
The wedding garment must be HIS garment!
